Our Executive Team
Ashley Mehr
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Ashley is a dedicated special education advocate, a mother of three neurodivergent children, and a neurodivergent individual herself. Born in California, she spent a significant part of her childhood in Southern Oregon, where she developed a deep appreciation for resilience, advocacy, and community support.
Her journey into special education advocacy was shaped by firsthand experiences navigating the education system, ensuring her children received the services and accommodations they needed. She understands the challenges that families face, from bureaucratic red tape to systemic ableism, and is committed to empowering parents with knowledge and support.
With a passion for inclusion and equity, she works tirelessly to help families feel seen, heard, and supported in their fight for appropriate education. She believes that every child deserves access to a safe, supportive, and individualized learning environment, and she strives to break down barriers that prevent that from happening.
Through her work, she hopes to create a world where neurodivergent children thrive, where parents feel confident in their advocacy, and where schools truly meet the needs of all students.
ERIN JIMENEZ
CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER
Erin grew up in a rural area, where access to essential services was limited. As the sibling of an older brother with special needs, she witnessed firsthand the challenges of navigating a system that didn’t always offer the support needed.
One pivotal memory from her childhood was when her family was told, “To get the education he needs, you need to move to San Diego. We just cannot help him here.” That moment stayed with her for years, driving a deep desire to change the way families experience these challenges.
Now, as a mother of three amazing boys, two of whom have special needs, Erin is deeply familiar with the hurdles that come with advocating for the services and special education that children with unique needs deserve. Having attended numerous IEP meetings and feeling alone and unsure where to turn for guidance and support, she knows how isolating and overwhelming the journey can be. This personal experience fuels her passion for helping others who face similar struggles.
Her passion and dedication to help provide a sense of community, guidance, and resources to families in need of support. Her mission is to ensure no family ever feels alone in their pursuit of the right education and services for their children.
